The 7th Generation Storytelling Initiative’s mission is to document stories from marginalized communities, educate children on the value of their narratives, and use art and media to inspire lasting social change. We aim to honor past generations while empowering the next to take ownership of their histories and their futures.

What We Do Preserving Voices Empowering Children Creating Impactful Media Launching a Revolution

  • Preserving Voices: Collaborate with individuals whose stories are essential to understanding the social and cultural struggles that shape our communities, such as the late Jazz singer Jewel Brown.
  • Empowering Children: Teach young people that their stories matter through mentorship programs, workshops, and interviews with family members and community elders.
  • Creating Impactful Media: Produce children’s books, graphic novels, and documentaries that capture the stories of institutions and individuals who have fought for justice and equity.
  • Launching a Revolution: Respond to the censorship of books by producing more books that challenge the status quo and inspire readers to seek out banned material.
